British Council's prestigious Study UK Alumni Awards 2024

In a milestone celebration of UK alumni worldwide, the British Council has launched the 10th edition of the Study UK Alumni Awards for 2024. This prestigious event is set to honour the remarkable achievements and global impact of UK alumni.

The Study UK Alumni Awards encompass four prestigious categories, each designed to showcase outstanding achievements across diverse fields: business and innovation, science and sustainability, social action, and culture and creativity. The competition gives eligible applicants the opportunity to compete at both the national and global levels, showcasing their skills and talents on global stages.

Winners of the Study UK Global Alumni Award can anticipate the opportunity to enhance their worldwide profiles, broaden their professional exposure, and enhance their career prospects through a special networking visit to the United Kingdom.

It is worth mentioning that the awards received a total of 1,200 submissions from alumni of UK institutions who are currently living in about 100 different countries. The aforementioned candidates had connections with over 120 prestigious institutes of higher education around the United Kingdom.

The British Council has stated that a number of nations, including India, will hold national ceremonies to honour their finalists. The global Alumni Award winners and finalists will be unveiled in 2024.

India’s National Awards for the previous year recognised outstanding individuals:

  • Saumya Singh (University of Manchester), winner of Business and Innovation Award
  • Puja Changoiwala (University of Westminster), winner of Culture and Creativity Award
  • Abhinav Sinha (University of Glasgow), winner of Science and Sustainability Award
  • Sugandha Yadav (Durham University), winner of Social Action Award

  • Over the years, the United Kingdom has continually maintained its status as a highly regarded educational destination for students from India. Based on data provided by the UK Home Office, there has been a significant rise of 54% in the population of Indian students pursuing education in the United Kingdom. Specifically, in the year ending June 2023, a total of 142,848 sponsored study visas were issued to Indian students.
